Join the Division of Undergraduate Studies for a hands-on exploration of one of our neighboring border communities. Our partner organization, Via International, will lead us on an “insider” tour of Mexicali, allowing us to learn about the educational system of Mexico and issues related to migration, partner with local community members in a service project, visit neighborhood microcredit projects, and participate in unique cultural experiences. This 1-unit experiential course is open to all SDSU students and will satisfy the international experience requirement for students in the Liberal Studies major.*

* Students in other majors or programs requiring study abroad should check with their advisors to find out whether this program will count.

 

** Spring semester Tecate Experience: This trip has been designed specifically for students who, due to family commitments, cannot spend multiple nights away from home. The scheduled course components will take place over a number of Fridays in February and March and will consist of 4 day-long trips to Via International projects in Tecate, Mexico, one overnight Friday-Saturday in Mexicali, and two full days in San Diego. Specific program dates are tentative.
